Manuvision body therapy can support people experiencing a wide range of physical and psychological challenges. These may arise from work-related injuries, physical imbalances, or emotional states connected to stress, shock, or trauma.

Many people come to us with back pain, stiff joints, whiplash,, headaches, and digestive problems. Increasingly, however, people also seek help for stress, angst, depression and inner unrest – conditions that have become more common in modern life.
Manuvision body therapy works as a complement to conventional healthcare. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or diagnoses, we explore the connection between physical experiences in the body and psychological states. By working with the whole person, we bring a holistic perspective to the challenges that may stand in the way of health, balance, and wellbeing.

How body therapy works
We begin each session with a brief conversation about how you’re feeling. From there, we assess your body, paying attention to patterns, tension, and areas of blockage that can be seen or felt. Through movement, gentle pulsation, and a range of therapeutic techniques, we help activate your body’s natural healing processes. This can ease or relieve pain by releasing built-up tension and restoring balance in your body.
Here’s an overview of our approach to some of the most common conditions, which Manuvision has more than 20 years of experience treating:
Stress
Stress is a condition in which the body remains in a constant state of alert. This state creates tension in the muscular system, leading to symptoms such as restlessness, headaches, dizziness, sleep problems, heart palpitations, infections, and fatigue. In Manuvision body therapy, we treat stress through the body: by restoring balance to the nervous system, freeing the breath, and releasing muscular tension. Only when the body is at ease can we begin to address the underlying causes of the stress condition. Read more: Stress management
Pain in the back, neck and lumbar region
The back and neck form the body’s central supporting pillar. They are often the ‘end point’ – the parts of the body that bear the load – when we are under stress, and we usually only notice them when pain arises. At Manuvision, we are experienced in treating pain in the back, neck, and lower back. We have extensive experience addressing conditions such as herniated discs, back strain, neck strain, Scheuermann’s disease, scoliosis, sciatica, and more. Pain in the Shoulders, Elbows, and Wrists
Pain in the shoulders, elbows, and wrists—along with conditions like tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, or repetitive strain—often comes from poor coordination between these joints. In a Manuvision treatment, we identify which joint is restricted and restore movement so the joints can work together more effectively. When the joints move in harmony, they become less prone to overuse, tension, and pain. Read more: Treatment of Shoulders, Elbows and Wrists
Pain in the Knees, Ankles, and Hips
Pain in the knees, hips, and ankles can often be traced back to stiffness in the feet and a lack of coordination between these joints. In a ManuVision treatment, we therefore work to restore mobility in the feet, ankles, knees, and hips, allowing them to function together as a whole. When these parts work in harmony, they are less prone to overload—and therefore also less likely to develop tension and pain. Read more: Treatment of Knees, Ankles, and Hips
Migraine
Migraine is a severe type of headache that is often accompanied by nausea and sensory disturbances, particularly sensitivity to light and sound. In treatment, we look at the condition in relation to other physical and psychological factors. We release tension and promote circulation in the areas of the body that tend to tighten during migraine episodes. We also work to identify the patterns and triggers that may contribute to the onset of migraine attacks. Read more: Treatment of Migraine
Digestive Issues
Digestive problems can stem from tension in the body, stress, or imbalances in the nervous system that affect how the digestive organs function. In Manuvision body therapy, we work to release muscular tension, restore natural movement, and improve circulation and nerve function, helping the digestive system regain balance and support overall health. Our regular retreats have also helped many people make progress in their healing and gain a deeper understanding of the root causes of their digestive issues. Read more: Fasting retreats
Tension Headaches
Tension headaches are often caused by tight muscles in other parts of the body, most commonly the neck and shoulders. In Manuvision body therapy, we help relieve and prevent these headaches by releasing tension in the neck and shoulders, restoring balance to the nervous system, and activating deep, natural breathing. This approach not only eases the headache itself but also promotes relaxation and improved overall body function Read more: Treatment of headaches
Concussion (Mild Traumatic Brain Injury)
Manuvision body therapy treats the after-effects of a concussion by helping to restore connection to the body’s signals and re-establish balance in the nervous system. Read more: How do you recover from a concussion
Depression
Depression is a state where the body feels depleted of energy and resources, and the mind can become trapped in a negative spiral. In Manuvision body therapy, we work with the nervous system to awaken the breath and muscles, restoring energy and flow throughout the body. By reconnecting with the body and releasing held-back emotions, we create movement and renewed vitality in the areas that have “collapsed,” helping both body and mind regain balance and life. Anxiety
Anxiety is a state in which the body remains on constant high alert, often resulting in a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, sleep disturbances, racing thoughts, and restlessness. In Manuvision body therapy, we work to restore balance in the nervous system through gentle touch, pressure, and relaxation of the breath and muscles. Once the body is calm, we can begin to address the racing thoughts and patterns that trigger the anxiety response, helping both body and mind regain ease and stability. Read more Anxiety Treatment
PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)
Read more: Treatment of PTSD

Manuvision body therapy has been the focus of the first research project in body therapy in Denmark, conducted by the National Institute of Public Health (SDU) in collaboration with the Capital Region of Denmark Psychiatry. The research results show that 6 months of Manuvision body therapy can reduce or completely eliminate PTSD symptoms in war veterans with PTSD. Read more: Research into Manuvision Body Therapy

Podcast about body therapy
Manuvision publishes podcasts where we delve into topics that explore the connection between body and mind, and talk about our education and further training. We are currently working on translating some of all these exciting podcasts for you.

book about trauma treatment
In the book “When the Body is at War” we gather the threads from 25 years of treatment practice with the experiences from the research project into the effect of Manuvision body therapy against PTSD, conducted by the Danish Institute of Public Health (SDU). We introduce our work with relationship and body awareness and the principles and techniques that can regulate the balance in the nervous system and create change in people exposed to trauma. We are also working on translating “When the Body is at War”
